About Me
Section Title
Growing up, I always dreamed of have a dog – it wasn’t until my late-twenties after moving to a property with some space, that I was finally able to welcome one into my life. My first dog, a kelpie/cattle dog cross named Mollie, opened by eyes to a whole new world. We did everything together puppy school, obedience training and eventually dog agility. I fell in love with the sport and even went on to compete.
When Mollie was six, she was daignosed with osteosarcoma and given just six months to a year to live with chemotherapy. I was devastated I couldn’t accept the prognosis, so I began reserachng alternative options. With the suppor to some incredible holistic vets, wer were able to bring her cancer into remission. Thanks to that journey, Mollie lived another four wonderful years. Sadly, when she was ten, the cancer returned and spread to her lungs, and I had to say goodbye.
That experience sparked a deep interest in holistic health for dogs, something that continues to shape my life today. I’ve applied what I learned with Mollie to all of my dogs since.
After many rewarding years in agility, I decided to try sheep herding with my current dogs, both Australian working kelpies. They were naturals, one ven placed at this first sheepdog yard trial! As for me, I quicky realised that herding requires a whole new level of skill (and obedience!). My dogs were talented me not so much and I decided to step back from the sport for now.
Through it all, my greatest passion became clear: supporting dogs through holistic health and sharing that knowledge with others.
I have always had a deep interest in natural health and have incorporated holistic practices into my own lifefor many years. So when I came across Rita Hogan’s Holistic Canine Mentorship program, it felt like the perfect next step. I eagerly joined and spent the next 4.5 years fully immersed in the world of holistic canine health. It was an incredible journey of learning, growth and connection. I’m proud to have completed the full four and a half year mentorship, and it’s been truely life-changing both for me and for the dogs in my care.
This in-depth training has deepened my understanding of the mind-body connection in dogs and continues to shape the way I support my own dogs and my clients, focusing on the whole animal, not just the symptoms
